Course Narrative:
The Chicano Narrative course has been one of my favorites classes her at CSUMB. One of the things that I like the most about this course was all the novels we read and analyzed during class. In most of my readings I was able to relate my life experiences to many of the issues and obstacles the characters in the stories had to face. Some of the authors we saw in class were Reyna Grande, Sandra Cisneros, Jóse Antonio Villareal, Alicia Gaspar de Alba and many others. Through these readings I had a better understanding of the Chicano society, culture and values.
