SPAN 301: Comp/Oral Practice
Course description: Continues to build proficiency as defined by the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. Content-based instruction develops communicative language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through readings and discussions of authentic Hispanic cultural and literary texts. For students with two or more years of Spanish or an intermediate level of Spanish language proficiency.
Course Narrative:
During this linguistic´s class I was able to practice and developed my communicative language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through reading assignments class discussions. This class helped me with built a stronger vocabulary and grammar skills in Spanish. At the same time I had the opportunity to work in a group project that help us practice our research skills as well as or oral skills to present our topic in front of the class. During this course Dr. Oliva, also introduce the narrative writing skills, and I was able to write my first short story through his guidance and the practice we had in class. Writing my first short story called Jacinto, showed me that I am capable of learning and doing a lot more than what I thought.
