WLC 300: WLC Major ProSeminar
Course description: This course introduces students to the Japanese Language and Culture, or Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures majors. Students acquire knowledge and understanding needed to fulfill Major Learning Outcomes for the programs, including literature, culture and linguistics, and to develop individual learning plans. The course examines opportunities in related professional and career paths, such as graduate education and teaching credential preparation.

Students acquire knowledge and understanding needed to fulfill Major Learning Outcomes for the programs, including literature, culture and linguistics, and to develop individual learning plans. The course examines opportunities in related professional and career paths, such as graduate education and teaching credential preparation.
Course Narrative:
During this course I acquire knowledge and understanding need it to fulfill the Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures Mayor outcomes. In this class we also learned how to put together the e-portfolio, which is one of the requirements to graduate. We were also able to elaborate a personal statement, a resume and learned how to use resources to do research and summarize our goals. We also had the opportunity to learn from many of the professor at the World Language and Culture department and guest speakers, during their visits we had the opportunity to learned about different topics like literature, linguistics and career opportunities. They also provided us with valuable information about scholarships and different programs available for us after graduation. This course help me had a clear understanding about my goals to graduate and after graduation.
