MLO 2: LINGUISTICS
The student develops their knowledge of fundamental concepts in the fields of Hispanic and Applied Linguistics, and is able to apply them in the completion of research papers and data-driven research studies pertaining to current issues in these areas.

Course Narrative:
During this courses, I was able to achieve the Linguistic requirement for my MLO 2, developing knowledge of fundamental concepts in the scientific study of language, which includes theoretical concepts like, structural linguistics, sociolinguistics and language development in first and second language acquisition. We apply the study of linguistics in reading and writing and we developed a knowledge base in linguistics, phonemic awareness, and syntax, and applying them in the completion of a research papers and presentations about current issues in society. This courses introduced me to the nature of linguistic, focusing in different areas. I developed knowledge of fundamental concepts in the fields of Hispanic and Applied Linguistics, and I was able to apply them in the completion of research papers and group presentations that talked about different topics in linguistics. The linguistic course give me the opportunity not only to achieve the requirements to graduate, but to have a better understanding about how the human language developed, and what are some of the characteristics that could helped me in my future teaching career. In the Bilingualism course I learned a lot about the brain development, and the different aspects of acquiring a second language. During my Spanish grammar course I had the opportunity to review many topics that I had forgotten, this course helped me developed better grammatical skills, for my reading, writing and my oral performance in the Spanish Language.
